Salt City Special: 1928 Ford Model T Salt Racer Hotrod

1928 Ford Model T Salt Racer RF

The days of summer are calling and nothing is more suitable [in our dreams] than a hot rod with open pipes and an open top. We like ‘old school,’ we appreciate anything that once ran flat out on the salt flats and we love unique touches that pop out at you the more you look at an automobile. This former salt racer has all of the above and it’s on EBay for $20,000 with Reserve Not Met. …Read More »

What IS That? – 1996 De Tomaso Guarà with Ford V8

1996 Detomaso Gaura RF

What is that??? That’s what we imagine you’d hear while driving this De Tomaso Guarà. This is one of 2 (of the 40 made) in the U.S., from what we understand, so you’d likely never ’see yourself coming around a corner’ in one. It’s unusual and while the Italian stying isn’t for everyone, we really like that it doesn’t look like anything else. It’s currently on EBay at $100,000 with 0 bids and Reserve Not Met. …Read More »

Same Owner since 1967: 1966 Griffith Series 400

1966 TVR Griffith series 400 RF

This ‘66 Griffith is the type of car we love finding. Owned by the same fellow since 1967, it was raced at places like Watkins Glen as well as driven on the street. Cars like this one have a history, the tell a story and that’s a great part of car collecting and ownership. This Griffith is currently on EBay with Reserve Not Met at $52,100 and 38 bids. …Read More »

Corvette Powered: 1993 Mazda RX7 LS1 V8 with T-56 Tremec

1993 Mazda RX7 LS7 Powered LF

This 1993 RX-7 is far from stock, some may argue this is the way it should have been from the start. It’s powered by a 450+hp Chevrolet LS-1, mated to a Tremec T-56 6 speed and has a bunch of other goodies. The seller claims over $35,000 has been spent on this build, he’s willing to take $22,900 OBO. …Read More »

Unrestored Original: 1962 Chevrolet Corvette with 41k miles

1962 Corvette 41k miles orig LF

Another all-original car has come our way this week in the form of this 1962 Corvette. We love cars that have been well kept, this one is no different. The seller claims it’s got all original paint, interior, moldings, chrome, glass and drive train. If you look closely at some of the pictures from his ad you can see original looking markings on the undercarriage. Asking price is $69,500, which is serious money for a non-fuel injected 62 Corvette. But the level of originality is very valuable to some prospective buyers. …Read More »

Rarely For Sale: 2001 Ultima GTR

Ultima GTR Track

Ultima GTR’s, regardless of year, rarely come up for sale in the U.S; for more info on these cars check out their website. This one, although a 2001, has less than 6,000 miles. It’s built with very reliable parts, including a 500hp Chevrolet LS6 V8 mated to a Porsche G50 transmission. The seller claims the previous owner had $143,000 into this build, making this a relative steal at $70,000. …Read More »

Moal Special: 1932 Ford Model A “Track Nose”- Owned by Tim Allen

LF

December 2, 2009: This car has been re-listed on EBay under the same seller. On the previous auction it was bid up to $178,300 but was a No Sale. We’ve updated the links, check out the new description.

September 22, 2009: Here is a truly unique hot rod. Built by Steve Moal of Moal Coachbuilders for actor Tim Allen, they dubbed it the “Licorice Streak.” Steve Moal has designed some of the most sought after hot rods in the world and rarely does one come up for sale. The fact that this is owned by Tim Allen, a huge “car guy,” makes it that much more special. …Read More »

Thanksgiving Day Treat: 1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mark I

1965 Sunbeam Tiger Dark Blue RF

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving from Two Seats Or Less! Given it’s Thanksgiving day, we figured the most appropriately ironic thing to post is a British car with an American powerplant. Besides that, we’ve had a few people inquire about the black Mark II Tiger we posted a few weeks back. That car was very nice, but sold shortly after we posted it. So, what we’ve got here is a Mark I, which is less rare, but still a great car. The owner claims it’s one of the nicest on the planet, hence the asking price of $54,500 or offer. …Read More »

Properly Hot-Rodded: 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I

1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 RS

We aren’t typically fans of “big body” cars from the early 70’s but this Mustang Mach I is a bit different. Admittedly, we like it because it’s black and for the ‘long and low’ look, made possible by the full Air Ride Technologies air suspension and 18″ Foose wheels. The seller is asking $85,000 but we’ll let you judge whether or not it’s worth it. He claims much more than the asking price has been put into the car, for what it’s worth. …Read More »

Road Ready: 1934 Ford 5 Window Coupe Hotrod

LF

November 18, 2009: This Hotrod was spotted for sale again, with a slightly lowered price of $34,000. It’d be a blast to roam through the hills of So. Cal with this winter or to put in the garage and spend some time to make it personalize to your desire, in time for spring. We’ve updated pricing and links.

October 6, 2009: This ‘34 Ford is a great example of a straight forward build that comes to life the more you look at it. The seller started with an original 1934 steel body and chopped the windshield, channeled the rear panels and made all the necessary modifications to the frame. He added a ‘59 Pontiac 389 V8 and mated it to a 4 speed Muncie and a 3.50 rear end with limited-slip. All of this for $34,000, seems like it could be a decent deal if you’re looking for an ‘in-period’ looking hot rod to drive and enjoy. …Read More »
