BMW, Race Cars

We’ve featured a few E30 M3’s on the site before, mostly low mile garage queens. This E30 is much different in that it’s fully stripped, caged and ready to hit the track. It’s currently on EBay bid up to $16,100 with 5 bids. The seller has a reserve of $25,000 (which he claims is less than the cost of the motor) and is open to offers. …Read More »

Road Cars, TVR

This ‘66 Griffith is the type of car we love finding. Owned by the same fellow since 1967, it was raced at places like Watkins Glen as well as driven on the street. Cars like this one have a history, the tell a story and that’s a great part of car collecting and ownership. This Griffith is currently on EBay with Reserve Not Met at $52,100 and 38 bids. …Read More »

Race Cars, Road Cars, fiat

Here’s a chance to own a unique 4 cylinder racer, with some cool history, for probably less than the cost of an engine rebuild on most V8’s. This Fiat Abarth ran the 2007 La Carrera Panamericana in Mexico, starting dead last but finishing in the top 50. Could be a hoot, currently on EBay with Reserve-Not-Met at $7,600. …Read More »

Porsche, Road Cars

One of the fastest open top cars this side of a Bugatti Veyron Grandsport has to be this Canepa Design race bred 962powered 1989 911 Speedster. With almost 600hp coming from the air cooled twin turbo, Bruce Canepa claims to have taken it to 202mph, where it felt “pretty comfortable.” A lot of time and energy was spent developing this 911, as the entire car has been upgraded. All for a price of $229,000. …Read More »

AC, Race Cars, Road Cars

This 1957 AC Aceca is a find that’s met us with mixed emotions. It was for sale (from what we recall, 6-7 years ago) for $44,000 here, but we missed it then! We’ve often looked for this exact car to come back on the market and now it has, but the values of Aceca’s have climbed, now the seller is asking $119,000. We think it’s fairly priced, just a bit hard for us to pull the trigger right now. …Read More »

Pontiac, Race Cars

We aren’t big fans of NASCAR but we’d own this former Winston Cup Pontiac. We’ve always respected Richard Petty, if not for his humble roots and dedication to the sport of auto racing then for complete devotion to his fans. The seller claims this is the actual car The King used in his last two seasons; better still, it was a road racing (not “left-hander”) chassis used on road courses at Watkins Glen and Sears Point. For $85,000 you can own a real piece of history. …Read More »

Race Cars, Radical

If you follow the blog, you know we’re big fans of Radical Sportscars. We’ve featured a very reasonably priced naturally aspirated Yellow one that sold quickly, and a supercharged Blue one that didn’t. This 2004 Orange/Blue SR3 was just listed for sale, its got a Downs Engineering 1350cc Hyabusa engine with a turbocharger, good for up to 400hp. The seller claim’s he’s got over $145,000 invested, he’s asking $49,000. …Read More »

Mini, Race Cars, Road Cars

We’ve been overwhelmingly busy the last few days, our apologies. We’re back on track with what we think is a great deal for the right buyer, in this 1972 right hand drive Mini. It’s set up as a racer and the seller claims it placed 2nd place in the 2002 Mini Seven Series in New Zealand. It’s now back in the States and can be had for $7,950. …Read More »

BMW, Race Cars

November 18, 2009: This ///M striped BMW is back up on EBay under the same seller. He’s reduced the Buy It Now from $21,495 to $19,495; we still think the car is great if the history can be proven. We’ve updated the links and pricing.
October 13, 2009: Here’s an unusual one for you BMW guys. The seller claims this is one of two cars professionally built by BMW Motorsport N.A. for the 1987-1988 IMSA International Sedan Series. Assuming that’s the case, this isn’t just any 325is but a factory-backed production based race car. This car is painted the right colors, white with tricolor “M” stripes and the sponsorship by Warsteiner makes sense, as they were big sponsors of BMW around this time, especially of the E30 M3’s running the DTM class in Europe. That said, it’s very easy to paint a car up in this fashion, so we’d like to see some more paperwork. If the seller can prove it’s provenance, which it sounds like he can, this car could be a solid deal at $19,495. …Read More »

Porsche, Road Cars

We’ve always loved the look of Porsche IROC cars and this one’s no different. The nice thing about this particular 911 IROC tribute is that it’s not a fully stripped racecar like we often see, this one’s got a CD player, A/C that works and all those other creature comforts that make for a nice, streetable car. The seller set this car up to look like a racer but be versatile enough to drive daily. We like the attention to detail in the front and rear fiberglass bumpers and how he integrated the proper looking lighting, center-exit exhaust and duck tail spoiler on the car. Someone obviously put a lot of time, effort and money into this 911 and although it’s priced higher than most, at $33,500, we doubt you could replicate it for anything near that number. …Read More »
