Brian Redman Track Event: Targa Sixty Six (66) Palm Beach @ PBIR

Targa 66 Palm Beach

On our way back from sunny Palm Beach where we spent a few days at Brian and James Redman’s Targa Sixty Six (66) and wanted to write a small review. In short, if you’re looking for track days that aren’t too competitive but give you a LOT of track time, in a relaxed but safe environment, this is a great event. Pricing is $1,500 for three days of driving which seems expensive until you notice you can bring multiple cars with up to two drivers. So, pricing comes out to $250 per person, per day, which is very reasonable. …Read More »

Reasonable Italian Super Car: 1969 Maserati Ghibli

1969 Maserati Ghibli Red LS

If you’re like us, you’ve sought after a Ferrari Daytona at one point or another. The Maserati Ghibli is about as close as you can get to a Daytona, for about 30% the price of the Ferrari. This 79K mile Ghibli is very original with all matching numbers and the seller claims to have over $25,000 in recent receipts for mechanic and electrical updates and fine tuning. With an asking price of $63,900, we think this is a lot of car for the money. …Read More »

M. Schumacher Championship Car: 1994 Formula One Benetton B194

Benetton F1 Schumacher

This Benetton F1 car has garnered a lot of press lately. We had to feature it here, not because you won’t see it elsewhere (you will) but because of our admiration for Michael Schumacher, his 7 Formula One World Championships, and our appreciation for the 1994 F1 season. This is the car Schummi won the 1994 Championship in, it was his first world title and helped propel him to worldwide super-stardom. Given the history, we can see why it’s bid up to $4,000,000 on EBay. …Read More »

EBay Auction Ending Soon: 2002 Ferrari 575M F1 with 9,500 miles

RFS

We normally don’t prefer Silver and rarely on a Ferrari, but this 2002 575M really does it for us. Likely due to the lowered stance and enormous Novitec Rosso wheels and tinted windows which accent the Silver color really well. This 2002 is ending soon on EBay with a Buy-It-Now price of $125,000 so make sure to check it out before the auction ends. …Read More »

First of the Supercars: 1988 Porsche 959S

LS

October 2, 2009: After the reserve was not met at $210,100.00, the owner has reposted this 959S on EBay with a Buy-It-Now price of $395,000. We’ve also recently noticed the car for sale on Hemmings, for the same price.

September 24, 2009: The Porsche 959 is often attributed to starting the “supercar” craze of the late 80’s and 90’s, which gave birth to cars such as the Ferrari F40, Bugatti EB110, Jaguar XJ220 and later, the mighty McLaren F1. The 959 was originally built to enter the infamous FIA “Group B” rally series but the class that was home to the fastest, most powerful and sophisticated rally cars ever built was banned due to high level of danger for drivers and spectators; most cars never ran. Porsche took the same rally racing technology and used it in their road going version, the 959 you see here. Check the video after the jump to see what we’re talking about.

Ex-Alain Prost: 1991 Ferrari 642 Formula 1 Car

F1 LF
Chalk one more up on the “Want It” board. This is the Ex-Alain Prost F1 car that acted as back-up for the 1991 season. While ‘91 wasn’t a stellar season for Prost (the late, great Ayrton Senna dominated that year), he did receive 5 podium finishes. The seller claims this particular car was run at Monaco that season where the record books show Prost set fastest lap of the race and finished 5th. Not too shabby… …Read More »

Friday Diamond in the Rough: 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi

308 2 The car that attracted a generation of Ferrari die-hards aided by its ageless design, record-breaking performance and, of course, as the star of “Magnum PI.” Never before had a car represented a brand or a generation of sports cars as the 308/328 series did for Ferrari and the 1980s. The design is among the most beautiful in Ferrari’s storied history and is still modern-looking today. …Read More »

Priceless Prancing Horse: 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Aerodinamica

Superamerica

Update 8/22/09- Well that was fast. This car has been marked “sold” on Fantasy Junction’s website.

Here’s something you don’t see every day: a white vintage Ferrari. While it normally wouldn’t be our first choice of color, we think white compliments the 400 Superamerica really well. The seller claims this car is 1 of 14 with the Aerodinamica body work (styled by Pininfarina) and that this was the Geneva Autoshow car.

When buying a Ferrari, it’s always important to note the history and service records. This example has exceptional ownership history and has just recently been certified by Ferrari under their Classiche program, helping to add to the provenance. While the 400 S/A is not quite as desirable as the 410 S/A, we’d love to have this one in our garage. We’d pull the rear fender skirts off to show the whole rear tire and drive the heck out of it. These vintage Ferrari’s can actually be pretty reliable if driven and maintained properly.

At $1.25M this car isn’t cheap but it’s definitely got its place in history. For more info contact Fantasy Junction in Northern California. …Read More »
