Hot Rod, Road Cars

The days of summer are calling and nothing is more suitable [in our dreams] than a hot rod with open pipes and an open top. We like ‘old school,’ we appreciate anything that once ran flat out on the salt flats and we love unique touches that pop out at you the more you look at an automobile. This former salt racer has all of the above and it’s on EBay for $20,000 with Reserve Not Met. …Read More »

Hot Rod, Road Cars

Practicality, who needs it? That’s what the SUV or the family sedan is for; this hot rod is for cruising. Out on the open road, opening up the pipes and blaaaaating down the highway will make just about anyone smile. Plus, doing it in true old-school hot rod style is an added bonus. For $35,000 we’d love to have this one in our garage. …Read More »

Ford, Hot Rod, Road Cars

Hope everyone’s had a nice President’s Day, apologies for not posting the last few days, things have been quite busy. Today we’ve noticed a pretty cool looking Turquoise 1955 Ford Thunderbird hot rod that will make the Ford purists out there cringe. However, this car is really meant to be a hot rod, built as a cruiser by someone who didn’t want the typical hot rod (think 30’s roadster) body. It’s currently on EBay, with a Buy It Now price of $65,000. …Read More »

Hot Rod, Road Cars

This old school hot rod is a 1938 Diamond T truck cab on a 1947 Ford frame. We like this sort of thing as it’s really at the root of hot rodding. This auction ends soon so we won’t bore you with too many details. With 12 hours left, bidding is currently up to $8,600 with 23 bids. …Read More »

Ford, Hot Rod, Road Cars

Visualize it: top down, sun is just coming up, you’re winding your way through the hills of upstate New York on a crisp summer morning. Or bundled up, cruising the mountains of Vermont in the fall. Maybe blasting along I-5 up in California into Oregon. Well, that’s what we visualize when we see this car. It’s a car that you compromise to because it’s so damn cool. Bidding is currently up to $30,100.01 with Reserve Not Met. …Read More »

Hot Rod, Road Cars

As the folks over at Hot Rod Magazine said about this 1956 Peterbilt: “The best thing about this car is that it evades description.” It may evade description but the owner made sure to give it an identity, calling it “Gizmoness.” For the story behind the name and a detailed overview, check out this feature magazine article on the car. We don’t know exact pricing but the seller claims it’s very fairly priced at “less than the cost of its parts” and less than the $80,000 it’s insured for. Currently it’s bid up to $22,322.22 on EBay with the Reserve Not Met. …Read More »

Hot Rod, Road Cars

December 2, 2009: This car has been re-listed on EBay under the same seller. On the previous auction it was bid up to $178,300 but was a No Sale. We’ve updated the links, check out the new description.
September 22, 2009: Here is a truly unique hot rod. Built by Steve Moal of Moal Coachbuilders for actor Tim Allen, they dubbed it the “Licorice Streak.” Steve Moal has designed some of the most sought after hot rods in the world and rarely does one come up for sale. The fact that this is owned by Tim Allen, a huge “car guy,” makes it that much more special. …Read More »

Hot Rod, Road Cars

This hot rodded ride is not what we’re typically into. However, it’s very unusual but still usable as a show cruiser or show-toter, and priced in bargain territory. The owner claims he’s got well over $50,000 in receipts for the parts alone; it’s offered on EBay with No Reserve, bid up to (and will sell at) $28,000. …Read More »

Ford, Hot Rod, Road Cars

November 18, 2009: This Hotrod was spotted for sale again, with a slightly lowered price of $34,000. It’d be a blast to roam through the hills of So. Cal with this winter or to put in the garage and spend some time to make it personalize to your desire, in time for spring. We’ve updated pricing and links.
October 6, 2009: This ‘34 Ford is a great example of a straight forward build that comes to life the more you look at it. The seller started with an original 1934 steel body and chopped the windshield, channeled the rear panels and made all the necessary modifications to the frame. He added a ‘59 Pontiac 389 V8 and mated it to a 4 speed Muncie and a 3.50 rear end with limited-slip. All of this for $34,000, seems like it could be a decent deal if you’re looking for an ‘in-period’ looking hot rod to drive and enjoy. …Read More »
