Not For Purists: 1955 Ford Thunderbird Street Rod

1955 Thunderbird Street Rod LF

Hope everyone’s had a nice President’s Day, apologies for not posting the last few days, things have been quite busy. Today we’ve noticed a pretty cool looking Turquoise 1955 Ford Thunderbird hot rod that will make the Ford purists out there cringe. However, this car is really meant to be a hot rod, built as a cruiser by someone who didn’t want the typical hot rod (think 30’s roadster) body. It’s currently on EBay, with a Buy It Now price of $65,000. …Read More »

Custom Roadster: 1932 Ford Hi-Boy Hot Rod

1932 Ford Roadster Black RS

Visualize it: top down, sun is just coming up, you’re winding your way through the hills of upstate New York on a crisp summer morning. Or bundled up, cruising the mountains of Vermont in the fall. Maybe blasting along I-5 up in California into Oregon. Well, that’s what we visualize when we see this car. It’s a car that you compromise to because it’s so damn cool. Bidding is currently up to $30,100.01 with Reserve Not Met. …Read More »

RM Auction Block: 1995 Ford GT90 Concept Car

Ford GT90 Concept Car-5

January 24, 2009: We’re back from a great weekend in Scottsdale where we enjoyed watching the action at Barrett Jackson, RM Auctions and Gooding & Co. We were very disappointed at RM when they announced the GT90 had been pulled from the event. We were looking forward to seeing the car and watching the bidding. If we find out any more info, we’ll post it here.

December 22, 2009: On Friday, January 22, 2010 RM Auctions will auction off a truly unique Ford. The 1995 Ford GT90 was unveiled in January 1995 at the Detroit Auto Show as a successor to the legendary GT40 which Ford, with help from guys like Carroll Shelby, employed to beat Ferrari at Le Mans throughout the second half of the 1960’s. The auction house claims $3million dollars was spent in developing the carbon fiber panel, honeycomb aluminum chassis, 720hp quad-turbo V12 supercar. While RM Auctions is not currently providing any estimates, we doubt it will be bid up nearly that high. In the meantime, do any readers have estimates of their own? …Read More »

Street Cruiser: 1937 Ford 3 Window Coupe Hot Rod

1937_Ford_Blue_Coupe

It’s a cold dreary here and seeing this ‘37 Ford has brought us a bit of a smile. While we love all the lightweight, high strung cars with huge horsepower and great road-holding capabilities we’ve posted lately, sometimes it’s just nice to cruise. There’s value in having something which starts up with every turn of the key; that’s not too loud, too audacious or over the top; but still turns heads and gives you pride in knowing that it’s yours. This hot rod can be, for $39,900. …Read More »

Great Color and Stripe Delete: Midnight Blue 2005 Ford GT – 3,100 miles

Ford GT Blue No Stripe LS

Ford GT’s are really bad@ss sports cars. We’ve loved them since before Ford officially launched the GT, especially given it’s pedigree. One thing that’s annoyed us however, is the fact that so many of the GT’s came from the factory with ’stripes.’ Historically, few original GT40’s where red/white, grey/grey or white/blue, but it seems like all the new GT’s are one of these combos. This particular car is Midnight Blue with the “stripe delete” option, a combo that makes it pretty rare. Given the color, and the fact that it has only 3,100 miles, this car is priced very fairly at $149,000. Don’t miss the video on the next page for more enticement. …Read More »

Lowest price we’ve seen: 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R

2000 Ford SVT Cobra R LS

If you’re not familar with the 2000 Mustang Cobra R, it’s probably because they only built 300 of them. We featured one a while back, which sold in a matter of days, you can check it out here with 8k miles. This one has 24k, but it’s also much cheaper, with an asking price of just about $30,000, making this the cheapest 2000 R we’ve seen.

Properly Hot-Rodded: 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I

1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 RS

We aren’t typically fans of “big body” cars from the early 70’s but this Mustang Mach I is a bit different. Admittedly, we like it because it’s black and for the ‘long and low’ look, made possible by the full Air Ride Technologies air suspension and 18″ Foose wheels. The seller is asking $85,000 but we’ll let you judge whether or not it’s worth it. He claims much more than the asking price has been put into the car, for what it’s worth. …Read More »

Road Ready: 1934 Ford 5 Window Coupe Hotrod

LF

November 18, 2009: This Hotrod was spotted for sale again, with a slightly lowered price of $34,000. It’d be a blast to roam through the hills of So. Cal with this winter or to put in the garage and spend some time to make it personalize to your desire, in time for spring. We’ve updated pricing and links.

October 6, 2009: This ‘34 Ford is a great example of a straight forward build that comes to life the more you look at it. The seller started with an original 1934 steel body and chopped the windshield, channeled the rear panels and made all the necessary modifications to the frame. He added a ‘59 Pontiac 389 V8 and mated it to a 4 speed Muncie and a 3.50 rear end with limited-slip. All of this for $34,000, seems like it could be a decent deal if you’re looking for an ‘in-period’ looking hot rod to drive and enjoy. …Read More »

Never-been-apart: 1934 Ford 3 Window Coupe

LFS

If you read the site often, you know we favor cars that are ready to go and can be driven right from the seller to their new home. This ‘34 Ford 3 Window Coupe is definitely not in that type of condition but we had to post it because it’s straight cool. Something about the fact that this 1934 Ford has been around for 75 years and is largely original is remarkable; if only it could talk, we’re sure the stories would be fascinating and endless. Clearly we’re not the only ones who’ve found the ‘34 attractive as bidding is already up to $40,100 on EBay. …Read More »

Steal It: 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

1965 and 1967 Mustangs 008

We know, yes… a lot of Mustang’s lately. What can we say, we love them. This car is pretty straight forward, Red/Black with some Shelby bits, the reason we posted it here is the price, $15,000. It wasn’t long ago that bare Mustang fastback shells were selling for that money and if this car is as nice as it looks in pictures, it may be a great deal. …Read More »
