March 21, 2010: This Porsche GT3 RS has some cool race history and is bound to be a future collectible. This chassis won its class in the 2004 24 Hours of Daytona, coming in an equally impressive 2nd over-all. While not cheap at the $139,000 starting price, you can almost guarantee this 911 will appreciate highly over the next 20 or so years.

There’s a chassis guide found here that gives a decent summary of the car’s history. This 911 competed in the HSR series and won the 2008 class endurance championship. Now the owner claims it’s been fully restored and has zero hours on an endurance spec 3.8L engine. Additionally he claims claims the list of spares is extensive.

As with most Porsche cars, these are known for their reliability. This is still be eligible for a host of racing series and would be perfect for HSR or would do very well in SCCA. For more info, find this GT3 RS on EBay in Ridgefield, CT.
