We’re not quite sure what the story with this RSR clone is, except it’s in Chicago and seems to have garnered a fair amount of interest. We’d suspect the ad is a hoax except that the seller openly lists a contact phone number and is an EBay Power Seller. What we do know is that someone spent a lot of time and money getting the body looking correct and setting up this 911 with some really proper parts. Our guess is that even most Porsche aficionados wouldn’t be able to tell this from a real RSR, probably why it’s bid up to $36,900 with 31 bids and NO Reserve!

Condition/History: History is somewhat questionable – started as ’75 911 and was recently converted to RSR specs. Seller claims does not run, although not sure why…

What’s to like: With the aggressive stance, this car would be absolutely wild looking on the street. Lots of really valuable/proper parts including center lug RSR wheels, intake and carbs, ignition setup, roll cage

What’s to not: Lots of questions come with this one, would need a thorough inspection. No VIN means street registration just got slightly more tricky but still doable

Investment Outlook: Depending on the actual condition, this car could play out well financially if bought right; it may also be a complete money pit

Where to find it: On Ebay in Chicago, Illinois.
