Robin Hood Rally Post Race Review
BERLIN, N.H. – (Business Wire) The Robin Hood Rally, a series where amateur racers race on closed public roads in the heartland of America, successfully completed the first segment of the 2010 series in Berlin, New Hampshire on May 22nd and 23rd. The merry band of 55 men and women spent two days racing Porsches, Ferraris, Corvettes, Lotuses, STIs and other exotic machinery in the area surrounding the Laidlaw property with all proceeds of local tickets sales donated to the City of Berlin.
“The Robin Hood Rally event in Berlin NH was a great success. We look forward to returning next year and working with our gracious hosts,” said Stephan Condodemetraky, President, Robin Hood Rally. “The drivers completed over 200 laps on a closed public road course with thrills and chills at every turn. The drivers were incredibly excited and had a great time. We look forward to our next event in Tuxedo NY on June 25th and 26th.”
The drivers also participated in a fundraiser walk to raise money for a local breast cancer survivor, raising over $1000 to help pay her medical expenses. “The Robin Hood Rally is committed to giving back to our host cities,” said Kevin Sweeney, VP of Business Development.
During the course of the two day event, one driver was injured and hospitalized. The driver was treated locally for injuries and then taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and is in stable condition and improving. No other cars were involved.
The Robin Hood Rally’s next race will take place in Tuxedo NY on June 25th and 26th.
About The Robin Hood Rally
Kicking off in May 2010, the Robin Hood Rally gathers 55 amateur racers as they spend two days completing timed runs on a designated Rally Course in 10 host cities spanning the American landscape. Representing a wide socio-economic mix limited only by their imagination and raw talent, racers compete for prizes including a Ferrari F430, a Porsche 911, a Corvette Z51 convertible and a set of steak knives. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales are donated back to host cities.
The Robin Hood Rally will air on television in Fall 2010.
There are a few more pics here.
We will continue to update this section of the blog as we compete and if any new info becomes available.

We also use a HANS and have FIA carbon fiber seats in our Porsche 911s as well as full fire systems, fuel cells, roll cages, etc. It’s crazy to be out there in a street car IMHO.

Agreed Mike, it is a bit crazy to run a full street car.
You’re cars are probably some of the best set-up in the RHR, a couple other cars are also well prepped but there are less than a handful of competitors with proper safety impliments, including HNR’s!

You guys were fantastic ! Great competitors. I think they are going to need to require full cages for everyone. You saw my Legacy Grand-Am car…..my roll-cage has a roll-cage to protect it
And I have always worn a HANS when I race>
AFTER THIS WEEKEND HOWEVER…..I am considering donning one when I get up to pee at night

Thanks Alan!
Yes, more safety requirements (anything at all) would be a great improvement. I saw your cage, the fellow from Hudson Historics who preps our car even said “did you see the cage in the Legacy, it is serious!!!” Really top notch work. I think I’m going to start wearing my helmet in the paddock of these events; between the spectators, helicopter and drivers you never know what to expect….
PS – It’s dangerous keeping your Ariel Atom out in the open like that, it’s just tempting one of us to hijack it and take it for a joyride!

hey guys!
this race is exactly what i expected (and hoped for). its a balls out, best driving/best skills wins affair. i’m totally fine with the roads that have been picked, and all that that entails.
my car isn’t prepped like most of yours (i’m the white #11 Ford Probe; pretty much a home built, extremely low buck affair, mostly stock, and i usually race it in NASA PTE competition with NASA Mid Atlantic region). it does have all the usual safety equipment — Autopower bolt in cage, nets, kill switch, belts, and i always wear my HANS.
hopefully after our first weekend in berlin, most folks will now understand that they must drive within their skill level, and know their limitations (best Dirty Harry voice “a man’s GOT to know his limitations!” ). i am very much looking foward to tuxedo, ny!!! oh, and i’m bringing my other homebuilt special; it’s a honda civic, and it’s my ‘big stick’.
see y’all there!

Guys,
You are so right in that for the most part that safety is first and foremost! I am basically driving a fiberglass body bolted to a tubular frame with 1963 technology! I have a full roll cage and a 5 point harness (and the best helmet I could find.) Our own worst enemy is ourselves! Alan, nice work and good driving. TwoSeats, keep your eyes on the road and not on the competition! Me, I placed last…that means I get to drive #80 again! Be well and see you in Tuxedo. Regards, Bob

Bob – we love the Cheetah ! I was born in ’65 so most muscle cars are just big-motors -no brakes – old fashioned handling – “before my time” stuff. Your car is a shining exception to that muscle car ennui. I assume everyone heard the spectacular news that our comrade , Jeff P , is HOME and recovering nicely ? I was really creeped-out when I got a Facebook friend request and feared it was some relative of his that was friending all the racers so they could post updates and not be distracted by incessant emails and calls.
I am an investor in http://www.brammo.com electric motorcycles and someone a little ” too committed” to e-bikes picked up his bike in Portland and got run over on I-5 at night , in the rain. His mom FB’d me after I made a small contribution to his rescue-fund…..
BUT IT WAS JEFF HIMSELF! So it was entirely the opposite !
Now we can really go on to Tuxedo with high spirits !( and a terribly dangerous sense of immortality
Chicane anyone ? I’ll take 3 or 4 please. Chili’n'cheese on 2 , 2 just with mustard.
Sorry – I was posting simultaneously on a competitive eating site I follow. ( not really )
Speaking of posting – can we all start posting a bit on that Special Stage and other USA Rally sites that have been sayin gthis is all a scam for a year now…and now dissing us for riding the ” wrong cars on the wrong roads” and all kinds of other BS ?
I am annoyed by it so will post. Please join me. This is so much fun , ‘innit ?
