680 Miles Since New: 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster

Only about 800 Porsche 911 Speedsters came to the U.S., here’s one that’s hardly been driven. Covering less than 700 miles in a 21 year period is astonishing but then again so is the condition of this Porsche. With a sticker price of almost $70,000 in 1989 it was not for the faint of hear, currently it’s on EBay in Winter Park, FL with one bid at $82,000 and Reserve Not Met.
We often see ‘original’ low mileage cars that are not so original when you start looking. However, this 911 is a true survivor, almost identical to the way it left the factory in Stuttgart 20 plus years ago. While we always advocate driving, using and enjoying automobiles, it’s nice to see one that’s been kept in such fine shape. The seller claims this car is completely original except for the battery, which has been replaced.
A car of this level will always command a premium in pricing, given the rarity and the lack of miles, just how much premium is completely up to the buyer. If you’re looking for another one of these with no miles, in absolute perfect shape, you may never again find one. The downside to paying a large premium is that unless you plan to fastidiously store, maintain and never drive it, you will likely lose a bit of your initial investment.
