If you’re looking for a 90′s World Rally Championship car for the street, here’s your chance. This red Ford Escort RS Cosworth is not your everyday Ford, in fact you couldn’t even get this car in the U.S. when new. This one was imported by well know Sun International Racing and the owner claims its fully registered and DOT/EPA legal. In it’s stock form this car was 227hp, this car has the “big” turbo so it may be closer to 300hp; for a real enthusiast, with some work they are rumored to be capable of 500hp! Not bad for around the price of a new Subaru WRX, at $26,500.

While this particular model isn’t perfect, it’s one of only a few in the U.S. and would be a great project/driver. It needs minor work on the radio, defroster, passenger window, etc but otherwise the owner claims it’s quite solid. Additionally, it’s got a bunch of upgrades and new parts, some of which (new Koni’s, Weber-Marelli ECU, Toyo tires) are valuable additions.

We’re sure it’s not the most practical daily driver but we can’t stop thinking it’d be a serious hoot. The fact that it’s not perfect would probably mean it’d actually get more use and enjoyment. Then, on the weekends it could double up as an auto-crosser or HPDE track day car. Sounds like a lot of possibilities for the money. Find it here in Portland, Oregon!
