Looks like Paramount didn’t crash that “250GT California” prop car it had created for Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. According to Bonhams auction house, this is one of the cars made for the movie; it’s been owned by a Ferrari collector and will now be up for auction April 19th, estimates are around $50,000 – 60,000 USD.

What can we say about this car really? Is it even close to being a Ferrari? No, was built in El Cajon, California not Maranello, Italy and it’s got a Ford 289 V8 not Ferrari V12. But, if it can be bought for anywhere near the estimate price, it’d be a cool piece of history. Ferris Bueller is one of the most iconic movies of the 80′s, appealing to masses of people.
