Less Than 700 Miles a Year: 1985 Porsche 930 Turbo with 16k Miles
First, we’ll apologize for the horrible photos of this 911 but they’re all we’ve got to work with. That said, here is a car that’s traveled less than 700 miles per year since it was made in 1985! Porsche Turbo’s are always sought after, some feel the 930′s are the last ‘real’ Turbo Porsche offered. As such, the seller is asking $56,000 for this car, located in Huntington, IL.
Without seeing this 911 in person and with such small pictures we can’t comment on its exact condition. That said, we like it because it’s being sold by an individual (it seems many low mile 911′s are sold by dealers) so you have an idea of who you’re buying from. Additionally, we think the price is a bit on the high side, which can be a good thing. We’ve seen many cars like this where the seller is asking slightly over-market pricing, where he gets no inquires, only to end up selling the car for a price much lower than originally asking. This is a great opportunity to contact the seller and keep in touch over the next few weeks, if he decides he wants to sell it badly enough, you’ll be ready.
As with any purchase, proper condition and documentation is key; these early 911′s are even more important due to the simple fact that the speedometer can be replaced literally in seconds. For more info or to contact the seller, see the ad here on craigslist.
