1952 Packard Mayfair Rally LF

Never contemplated buying a Packard, huh? Neither did we, until we realized this 1952 Packard Mayfair could be a great way to run La Carrera Panamericana on the cheap. It’s been run there before, in 1999 and with a bit of work, it looks like it would be ready to head back. Currently on EBay at $7,600, the seller tells us he’s ready to sell it to the highest bidder.

As it was set up for rallying, this Packard has a fuel cell and roll cage for added safety. The car is also equipped with more modern and reliable guages and it looks like a more modern pedal set up, perhaps from Wilwood. Additionally, the seller claims the car is eligible for all FIA sanctioned events, so we assume he’s got some documentation to back that up.

As a reasonably priced option to run La Carrera we’d take a look at this Mayfair. It will not be the coolest, fastest or nicest car there, but man what a hoot it would be flying through the roads of Mexico. Find this car on EBay in Dayton, Ohio.
