1969 Triumph TR-6 R33 RB25DET Swap LF

This Triumph TR-6 is a bit of an odd mixture, it’s a British chassis fitted with a Japanese Spec R33 turbo motor/trans. So, you’ve got British open-top styling which we like, coupled with Japanese reliability (in theory)… could be a pretty cool driver. This Triumph is on EBay at $15,000 with 17 bids and Reserve Not Met.

Besides the full power-train overhaul and upgrade the car has been completely gone through. It’s benefited from a full frame off restoration and upgraded just about every part possible. The list of parts is so long that you really need to see the full listing to understand what was done. Make sure to check out the restoration gallery as well. The only thing we’d like to caution here is that because of all the new parts, the new buyer will likely have some teething issues. But, judging by the seller’s listing, willingness to answer questions and thorough description of work done, it seems he has nothing to hide.

Putting a fair number on this TR-6 is not easy. Some people think it should be worth less than a well cared for [read non-butchered] stock TR-6 while others argue the motor swap and new parts really push the value higher. Regardless of your opinion on this TR-6’s, you should be able to purchase it for well below what it’d cost you to build it. Find this auction here Azusa, CA.
