Brun Motorsport’s Last 962 Chassis: 1990 Brun Porsche 962-008BM

Racing driver Walter Brun formed Brun Motorsport in 1983; they went on to campaign numerous Porsche 956’s and 962’s with a large amount of success, including a World Sportscar Championship in 1986. In the later days of Brun Motorsport the company constructed 8 chassis and built their own 962’s, this car is the last one built, serial number 962-008. Prices of anything Porsche 962 are really on a climb these days, the seller is asking $350,000 but told us $330,000 would move it.
This particular chassis didn’t have any wins but it did run at some great tracks including: Silverstone, Suzuka, Spa, Monza, and the Nürburgring, mostly driven by Walter Brun himself along with Bernard Santal, Jésus Pareja and Massimo Sigala; documented here with some period pictures here. Also cool about this car is that it was sponsored by some of the larger names of the day including: Repsol, F.A.T. Turbo, Jägermeister and TORNO.
While this car is definitely one of the lowest priced 962’s we’ve seen in quite some time, keep in mind that associated costs are very expensive. Although it looks to be in nice shape, it hasn’t been campaign in a number of years and will likely need an engine rebuild, which will probably cost over 100K. Then of course, paint, new graphics and other associated costs add up quickly. For more info, find it here in Switzerland.
