Always Been a Racer: 1959 Lotus Elite, Series I #1054

We always like finding cars that were raced back in the day and are still raced, like this 1959 Lotus Elite. The owner claims it’s got history back to the ’60′s; it’s still running today and competed in the 2003 Monterey Historics. This Elite is currently on EBay in Tempe, AZ with 9 bids up to $39,877.
We really like the “smurf” blue paint and the discrete race car look of this Lotus. The finish looks fantastic in all respects. The car is equipped with period correct items like 4 point rollbar, racing seat and red leather steering wheel but all the original parts come with it. This is a classic car that should appreciate in value even while still be usable and even race-able.
We hope the new buyer continues to use this car as it was intended, in keeping with the way it was used from new. For more info, check out the ad from EBay in Tempe, Arizona.
