Old School Daily Driver: 1985 BMW 635CSI with 79K miles

A little more mild than our normal taste is this 1985 BMW 635CSI. It’s a Euro conversion, done by Hardy and Beck in San Francisco; seeing as it’s still a CA car it probably has another 30-40hp to be gained by taking off the CA SMOG parts and converting back to Euro-spec. This car was a $55,000 in 1985! Older BMW’s, when kept-up hold value well, this seller is asking $16,900.
We like seeing older cars like this 635 kept up. This is a great example having only two owners and apparently being in California all its life. The current owner had the engine rebuilt and a bunch of other maintenance done when he bought it and he claims it runs flawlessly.
We’re not sure exactly why we like these types of cars. Really, it was just a BMW in 1985 and it’s kinda still just a BMW. We like that it’s a bit of a time capsule but one you can drive for many worry free miles. Find it on Hemmings in Sacramento, CA.
