2000 Oreca Viper GTS-R LF

Oreca has been largely successful at campaigning various race cars in both Europe and the U.S.. During the late 90’s and early 00’s Oreca worked very closely with Chrysler to build factory backed Viper GTS-R’s like this one, serial number 38. This car has a long list of history including multiple wins and many podiums. It’s recently been rebuilt, the owner is asking $199,000.

Here’s a video of a pretty similar GTS-R at Le Mans with some interesting commentary about the track and the race:

We like this car because its got interesting history. It’s run at the Sebring 12 hours, multiple times at the Spa 24 hours and other great tracks like Zolder, Silverstone, Monza and the Nürburgring. A lot of the history can be found here and here. One thing to keep in mind is this site claims chassis 38 was involved in a big shunt at Spa, resulting in the need for a new chassis.

Price on this car seems fair. Recently, this car, which also has decent but not spectacular history, sold for mid $190’s at auction. For more info, find this car here in Austria, where the seller is happy to help arrange shipping to the U.S.
