Not Your Ordinary Rod: 1956 Peterbilt Custom – “Gizmoness”

As the folks over at Hot Rod Magazine said about this 1956 Peterbilt: “The best thing about this car is that it evades description.” It may evade description but the owner made sure to give it an identity, calling it “Gizmoness.” For the story behind the name and a detailed overview, check out this feature magazine article on the car. We don’t know exact pricing but the seller claims it’s very fairly priced at “less than the cost of its parts” and less than the $80,000 it’s insured for. Currently it’s bid up to $22,322.22 on EBay with the Reserve Not Met.
Make sure to spend a few moments viewing the pictures up-close, noticing all the details incorporated in this rod. We especially like the fact that the Peterbilt cab, although extensively modified, was aluminum from the start and has been left bare in finish. Additional details like the cool split windshield, mechanic fuel-injection, full interior rollcage and Chevy small block and T-56 6 Speed make it even more desirable. Be careful not to overlook the quick-change rear end or the cantilevered trailing arm front suspension that in-itself is a work of art. We’d love to see this car, because it is so well setup, driven and enjoyed by the next owner. It’d be a great car to show up at almost any event with, from Monterey in August, to Cars and Coffee on a Saturday morning, this thing will turn heads and promote smiles.
Keep in mind this is a former SEMA showcar and Hot Rod Magazine feature car, when calculating the value in your head. For more info, check out the car on Ebay in Ontario, California.
