Properly Hot-Rodded: 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I

We aren’t typically fans of “big body” cars from the early 70′s but this Mustang Mach I is a bit different. Admittedly, we like it because it’s black and for the ‘long and low’ look, made possible by the full Air Ride Technologies air suspension and 18″ Foose wheels. The seller is asking $85,000 but we’ll let you judge whether or not it’s worth it. He claims much more than the asking price has been put into the car, for what it’s worth.
Besides the sleek look, this car’s had quite a few upgrades. To start, it’s got a 500hp 393 Windsor stroker motor mated to a T-10 4 speed with electronic overdrive; the owner claims the overdrive unit turns the 4.11′s into 3.20′s on the highway, making it a great cruiser. Furthermore, it’s got large PBR disc brakes, MSD ignition, Randall’s rack and pinion steering, a 4 link rear and tubular front suspension which is incorporated into the air ride. The owner has put some pictures of the restoration in the ad, which we like because he’s probably got more documentation and photos to go with the car. We’re sure this car is a blast to drive it’s worth as many smiles-per-mile as anything else you could buy in this price range.
Only thing we’d change is we’d like to see a bit more work done on the interior, especially for the asking price. A more proper steering wheel and racing oriented (but still vintage looking) seats would do the trick. For more info, see the ad on EBay. The seller seems to reply quickly to emails and appears to be straight forward which is always helpful.
