Drive a Formula One Car in the U.S. at Miami’s Homestead Speedway: $2,999

A while back, a company was offering a “Drive an F1 Car” experience at Las Vegas Speedway but now they’re long gone. They were the only place in the U.S. to offer such an experience but it looks like the car they were using may have ended up in the hands of a group who is doing something similar, this time a Miami’s Homestead Speedway. Good news for those of us who want to drive an F1 car but don’t want to go all the way to Europe to do it.
For reference, this is what you’d see from the cockpit (at least in your mind):
The way this program goes, for your $3,000 you get 4 laps in a Ferrari 360 to familiarize yourself with the track, then on to the 650hp former Damon Hill F1 car. You get 4 laps in that; additional laps may be pre-arranged on a single lap basis at $90 for the Ferrari or $420 for the F1 car. If these prices seem outrageous, which they probably do, they are cheaper than other places that offer this service in Europe. Also, consider the fact that when this Arrows was raced professionally it took teams of people just to keep it running; these cars are very costly to run. We’ve spoken to the host and they have dates starting in a few weeks, going into December.
