Vintage Rally Ready: 1954 Jaguar XK 120

Looking for something to run the Texas 1000 next month? This 1954 Jaguar XK120 would be a blast, as it’s upgraded from stock and fully prepared for vintage rallies. We’d love to blast along the long, open stretches in Texas in this open top Jaguar; what a feeling of freedom.
Bottom line on this car is that it’s not for the traditionalist; if you want to go to Jaguar Concourse events, this isn’t the car for you. If you look closely at the pics you’ll notice the louvered hood and inner fenders and bumper-delete. Additionally, to make the car more driver-friendly, the previous owner installed a 5 speed Getrag transmission and had the rest of the drive train rebuilt.
We’ve followed this XK120 for quite some time and know it has been for sale for over two years; asking price is $125K. It was a high asking price two years ago and with the current state of the economy, it’s even more over-priced. That said, since the car has been for sale for such a long time, the seller might actually budge on pricing. You can contact Motor Classic & Competition Corp in New York or check out the latest auction on EBay where bidding is up to $50,100, reserve not yet met.
