We recently posted a 1966 Shelby G.T.350 “Tribute” that was a very nice car and sold rather quickly. This is the car that “Tribute” was based on, a real ‘66 Shelby. These cars were built by Carroll Shelby to compete with the Europeans, both on and off the track; if you don’t believe that was the focus, just check out the “Eat Spaghetti” ad from 1966. This particular car is currently on EBay, bid to $68,850 with Reserve not met.

We’ve found some pretty interesting stuff related to this G.T.350, online with our Google-skills. Here is a very cool ad, printed in the January 1984 Issue of Mustang Times advertising this car for sale for just a bit over $13K! More recently, this car was advertised in Hemmings for $165,000, in November 2008. We don’t know if the person who advertised it in Hemmings is the current owner, but if the current owner is willing to come down on price, this car could be a decent deal. We like it, for one reason, because the stock (Shelby original) motor is on a shelf and the owner built another 289 to run. We’d love to see it at local SAAC events, run like Carroll intended.

For more info, read the detailed description here on EBay in Pennsylvania.
