Poor Man’s Cobra: 1967 Sunbeam Tiger MKII

We’ve never loved the stock Sunbeam Tiger but this Mark II is a different story all together. The MKII was the last iteration of Tiger and 1967 the last year of production. Sources site different production numbers for the MKII but most settle between 534-538 units, so these Tigers are pretty rare. What you need to know is, these were British built cars (like AC’s) with Ford 289 V8’s and 4 speed top loader transmissions. For serious shoppers, we’ve found a decent Sunbeam buyer’s guide, find it on Tiger United.
This particular Tiger has a lot to offer a new owner. The seller has put a ton of time, money and work into it. He’s replaced a bunch of parts and upgraded many more but says he’s still got all the original parts and they will go with the car. He opted to install a new Ford crate engine and preserve the original in addition to going through all the mechanicals and rebuilding them. The entire body was stripped and repainted “flawlessly” and the interior was redone. The owner claims no stone was left unturned and we believe him. It looks like he’s got pictures documenting the process as well, which always adds value. We especially like the larger, 16″ Panasport wheels and the hand pounded bubble in the hood which gives it a slightly more aggressive look.
The only thing we’d think about changing is the top color, black might look a bit more sporty. Other than that, we’d be proud to have this Sunbeam in our garage. Find iton EBay with 3 days left, at a price of $45,067 in Skippack, Pennsylvania.
