Ultimate Track Weapon: 2006 Maserati MC12 Corsa
September 30, 2009: This Maserati is also back up on EBay after being taken down mid way through its previous auction. Starting bid is $879,000 and so far there are no bidders. We’ve updated links and pricing.
August 28, 2009: In search of something that will make you the envy of everyone at your local track day? This should do: the Maserati MC12 Corsa, a racing version of a street car (MC12) derived from a FIA Championship winning racecar (MC12 GT1). Confusing, but all you really need to know is 750hp and around 2500lbs, based on an Enzo but with a lot more downforce. Compared to an Enzo, which is a massive car, this is 2.6 inches wider, 2.2 inches taller, has a 5.9-inch longer wheelbase, and is 17.4 inches longer overall.
With only 12 of these in existence, it’s rare enough that the value should hold up fairly well although we don’t see much appreciation in the near future. This car is for someone who wants immediate access into a very exclusive ownership club and is willing to pay up for it; we’d love to see the car at track days here in North America. Alternatively, there is a fellow who has converted one to road use so perhaps the same could be done with this car.
