ShelbyCobraUSRRCAfter spending this weekend at the Monterey Historics we had to post this Shelby.  Watching these

cars dice it up with the GT350’s, R-Model’s and Corvette’s was a real treat, besides, any Cobra holds a special place for us.  We’d like to see this one get back on the track with some of its well run siblings.

CSX2557 was run in the 1964 Bridgehampton 500km by Charlie Hayes but DNF.  Other than that, we can’t seem to find much history on the car.  Regardless, the car looks to be in great shape with one of the cleanest engine compartments we’ve seen on a racecar.  We especially like weber setup twin side-pipes à la the Daytona Coupe.

Here are a bunch more photos of 2557 on the Factory Five Cobra website.  You can find the car here at F40 Motorsports in Connecticut; for those of you who don’t watch too much TV, this is the shop owned by Wayne Carini of “Chasing Classic Cars” fame.  Tell Wayne you saw it in TwoSeatsorLess.com!
