30CS1
Update August 28, 2009: This car did not meet reserve at $76,300 with 4 bids.

Here is a fantastic looking car with some genuine history.  This car started life as a street car, owned by BMW in Germany and was later converted to a racecar.  It still carries the FIA issued Wagenpass (vehicle log book) and the seller has period photos of the car racing in 77/78.  Additional photos show the car in different paint schemes, one of which was taken when the car was found in storage in Sweden in 2006.

We like this car for its well documented history; the BMW M color-scheme is just an added bonus.  The owner ran the car at the Monetery Historics in 2007 and says it’s accepted to run the Coronado Festival in September;  invites to these events are great news for someone who wants to race this car on the west coast.  We’d love to see it running with Porsche 935′s and other ‘Bat-mobiles’ at Laguna Seca next year.

The car is being advertised on Ebay by Motoporter in Colorado.  Bidding starts at $75K, reserve is likely much higher but if you want to go vintage racing ASAP, this could be a great way to do it.
